The Silhouette

The Silhouette

Posted on June 2, 2024June 3, 2024 by robert blair

As you stroll, crisp air on your face,
In the dark, under the soft moonlight,
A sudden flash catches your eye—
Something now appears in the night.

You see her silhouette in the window,
Her body moving behind the curtain.
You have never seen her before,
But you know one thing for certain.

Her movement has you mesmerized,
Like she’s floating across the floor.
Your breath catches in your throat—
Her beauty has you begging for more.

You wish the curtain would open,
Allowing you a glimpse of her face,
Imagining the beauty hidden behind it,
The beat of your heart picks up pace.

You want to reach out and touch her,
To dance with the shadow you see,
Your arms wrapped around her waist,
Thoughts in your mind running free.

Wanting her hands on your shoulders,
As you slide your hands to her hips,
Hoping she’d lean a bit closer to you,
You imagine the taste of her lips.

You watch as her body moves away,
The dark figure beginning to shrink.
You reach out, wanting to pull her back—
The silhouette disappears in a blink.
